After every wedding is of course the honeymoon. Joe and I decided to try someplace totally different...someplace no one we knew had ever been...Curacao! We were there for 10 days and somehow managed to both get colds! First Joe got it, then he passed it on to me. Our colds foiled our plans of trying scuba diving, which I was disappointed about the most. But, we did get to go snorkeling. We met a great couple the day before they were leaving. They knew the island well because they had been there serveral times and they were nice enough to drive us around the island to see a lot of the popular spots with tourists and locals. They even took us to find cold medicine for Joe and a grocery store!! Then we all went to dinner when we got back to the hotel and showered and changed. That was our first meal off the hotel property! We should have thought ahead to rent a car, which we finally did so we could drive around on our own and see some of the sights. Curacao was not what we were expecting at all...we were expecting a lush tropical island, but instead it was very desert like. And it took us a while to realize that were not using cow's milk in our coffee or in our cereal...it was GOAT's milk! YUCK! It never occurred to me that we never saw any cows...just lots of goats! Ha Ha! Oh well. We survived and we had fun!!!

We left our mark in "The Board Room" - one of the Mariott bars

Nice sunsets were hard to come by...I think we were on the wrong side of the island to catch a good one

Willamstad, N.A. - one of the main reasons we wanted to go here...it looked so interesting!!
This was just a brief look into our honeymoon. It was an interesting place to visit...lots of Dutch people were there. Not sure if we would ever want to go back, but it was nice to see it once.
